Your data, backups & deleting your studio
You own your data. Export a portable backup any time, and if you ever leave, a deliberate deletion with a 30-day grace period to change your mind.
Your studio's records are yours. Linebook keeps them safe, you can bring your bookings in from another tool, and you can take a copy or close your studio whenever you want — on your terms.
Moving in from another tool
Settings → Data & privacy → Data & backups → Import bookings: upload a CSV of your existing bookings from your old tool or a spreadsheet. Use the columns Client, Email, Phone, Artist, Date, Time, Piece, Total, Deposit (only Client is required) — download the template to get the format right.
You see a count of what's ready before you commit, artists are matched by name (anything unmatched goes to your first chair to reassign), and the bookings drop straight onto your calendar.
Export your data
Settings → Data & privacy → Data & backups → Download export: a portable JSON backup of your studio — artists, requests, bookings and your full payment ledger, with client contact included.
The Finances page exports accountant-ready CSVs too — a per-artist settlement, a categorized ledger, and a bank-import file for QuickBooks, Xero or Wave (see Finances, reports & exports).
Client intake (health forms, consent, photos) exports separately as a passphrase-encrypted archive — set a passphrase only you know. Open it later at linebook.ink/tools/intake-decrypt, where it decrypts in your browser (nothing is uploaded). Lose the passphrase and the file can't be opened, so keep it safe.
Deleting your studio
Settings → Data & privacy → Danger zone (owner only): a deliberate, multi-step confirm — read what's removed, type your subdomain, and re-enter your password.
Deletion isn't instant. Your studio enters a 30-day grace period with a restore banner across the console — cancel any time before then. After 30 days, everything is permanently erased.
NoteHanding the shop to someone else instead of leaving? Make them an owner from Settings → Team (change their role to Owner), then step your own role down — no need to delete anything.
